Park City Bike Patrol Union Files Labor Charge Against Vail Resorts

The Park City Bike Patrol Association filed a new labor charge against Vail Resorts with the National Labor Relations Board on October 14, 2026, according to the agency’s public docket.

What the official docket shows

Case number: 27-CA-396990

Filed: October 14, 2026

Status: Open

Location: Park City, Utah

Charging party: Park City Bike Patrol Association, affiliated with the Communications Workers of America

Respondent: Vail Resorts

The NLRB docket categorizes the allegation under Section 8(a)(5) as repudiation or modification of a contract, including unilateral changes under Section 8(d). The docket does not yet describe the underlying events in detail, and the signed charge may require redactions before it becomes publicly viewable.

What this does—and does not—mean

A charge starts an NLRB process. It is an allegation, not a ruling that Vail Resorts violated federal labor law. As of October 15, the docket shows no agency finding, hearing decision, settlement or remedy. We did not locate a public Vail Resorts response to this specific charge.

Background

Park City Mountain’s bike patrol and trail-crew employees voted to unionize in August 2025. Contemporary reporting described a bargaining unit of more than 50 full- and part-time workers. At that time, Park City Mountain said it respected employees’ right to use the union process and would engage with it, while also saying the resort favored direct employee relationships.
