Park City Chairlift Dispute Heads to Mediation Ahead of the 2026-27 Season

A legal dispute that could affect access involving Iron Mountain Express and Timberline at Park City Mountain has been paused while the parties prepare for mediation.

Recent reporting says Park City Mountain, UI Charitable and The Colony homeowners association are scheduled to participate in mediation on October 22, 2026. Park City Mountain is targeting a November 20 opening, weather and conditions permitting.

The dispute centers on a 63-acre property near the Canyons Village side of the resort and has raised questions about continued access to terrain and lift operations.

The case is still unresolved. Mediation could lead to a settlement, but the pause does not by itself guarantee an agreement.

For skiers, the timing matters because the dispute is unfolding only weeks before the start of the 2026-27 season.
