Vail faces shareholder pressure as Oasis nominates four directors
Added September 28, 2026. This update covers reporting and company statements published September 11–14, 2026.
Vail Resorts is facing fresh shareholder pressure over its direction. CPR News, in a September 14 report carried by Aspen Public Radio, described activist investor Oasis Management’s push to nominate four directors amid concerns about the company’s performance, long lift lines and season-pass sales.
Vail confirmed on September 11 that Oasis had submitted nominations for Robert A. Chapek, M. Ashton Hudson, Bryce Roberts and Olympic skier Picabo Street. These were nominations, not completed appointments.
The company said it was evaluating candidates and already searching for an additional independent director, with that search expected to finish in early 2027. Its recommended slate would appear in its proxy statement.
For skiers, the question is whether board pressure leads to changes that improve the mountain experience. The cited announcements do not establish that any resort sale, price reduction or operational improvement has been approved.
