Northstar: traffic, crowds & 40-minute lift lines

In an October 1 Tahoe discussion, a commenter said living about 15 minutes from Northstar could turn into an hour-long Saturday trip and described lift lines reaching about 40 minutes. Vail Mountain: skier says lift waits pushed them off Epic

u/Spillsy68 said they used their Epic Pass only four times last season and that two early-season Vail days amounted to just a few runs with roughly half-hour lift waits. They said they dropped Epic and kept Ikon because they live closer to mountains on that pass. This is the commenter’s personal account.

Epic pricing: family says an out-West trip feels out of reach

u/Weir_Everywhere said their highly paid dual-income family still felt priced out of a family-of-four ski trip out West. Other commenters debated when multi-resort passes remain a good value. This is an individual affordability experience, not a finding about every family.

SKIER OPINION · REDDIT

Affordability: snowboarder says day-ticket prices kept a new rider off snow

In an October 1 r/snowboarding discussion about Vail's falling pass sales, one commenter said they stopped riding regularly after having a child and later found single-day lift-ticket prices too high to justify introducing their child to snowboarding. They argued that high day-ticket prices can make it harder to create future season-pass customers. This is one person's experience and opinion, not a finding about all families or resorts.

CUSTOMER SERVICE · BBB COMPLAINT

Epic Pass auto-renew: recent BBB complaint

A September 2026 BBB complainant said they believed auto-renew had been turned off, later saw a roughly $1,900 season-pass charge, and reported difficulty resolving the purchase through customer service. BBB later recorded the complaint as resolved to the customer’s satisfaction after Vail responded. This is one customer complaint, not a finding that the same issue affects all passholders.
